Let’s get real: More women experience pain than pleasure in birth.
So much of our medical system is built around rescuing women from the intensity of childbirth.
Unfortunately our most common interventions- epidurals, episiotomies, and elective c-sections- all contribute to the experience of MORE pain in the long run, not less.
What is the antidote?
You may think everything needs to be perfect in order to have an Ecstatic Birth– a loving partner, the perfect birth environment, unwavering support.
This Conversation to Transform Birth with new mom Anysa Olivera shows that you can transcend ANYTHING if you have prepared with consciousness and commitment.
She had the rug pulled out from her at 35 weeks, losing her partner of 10 years AND she birthed during the height of the pandemic.
Despite all this she was able to drop in deep for her daughter’s birth.
“I made love to myself in the early hours of my birth, moved slowly and intentionally through my rushes and was surrounded by things that brought me pleasure.
I was in my body.
I was deeply human and animal tethered to this earth plane in no way I had ever been before.
I laughed and was joyful; I was empty and full.
I was lucid and when the time finally came to push my daughter, the ring of fire burned. I met the fire with pleasure as I pushed.
As I knew pushing her head was the climax of my birth journey, in the restful period I was in absolute pleasure.
I even recall looking up at all of the beautiful women around me and saying, “Ladies I feel soooo gooood!
“It was exactly what I had dreamed of.”
Watch the full interview and discover how, “Against All Odds”, she was able to experience such Ecstasy in Birth.
Childbirth can be intense but that does not mean it has to be painful.
Have you ever experienced intense euphoria?
An intense orgasm?
Or an intense moment of deep spiritual connection?
The intensity has to do with the amount of energy pulsating through your body, not the type of sensation you experience.
Did you know that your sense of smell gives you direct access to your primal brain?
This is such an important thing to know because so much of our sense of safety and our relationship to our sexuality is embedded and governed by our primal brain.
CHILDBIRTH, at its best, is wholly governed by the primal brain.
Once you know this delightful fact about the connection between scent and your primal brain, you can use it consciously in birth to access and create the conditions to support the optimal flow of labor: safety, surrender, love, PLEASURE!
Preparing for an Ecstatic Birth can be So Much FUN.
I mean.. .who doesn’t love expanding pleasure in her life and body?!? Right?
We’ve been trained to put our energy and attention on positive manifestation.
Creation from a place of love and excitement truly is potent work, IF- you’ve done the deep work of clearing out your fears.
In the almost 10 years I have been doing this work, I have never met a woman that didn’t have resistance to this critical piece of birth prep.
Everyone has fears going into birth.. that is 100% normal and natural- fear of pain, motherhood, c-section, tearing… yes.. and the one mega fear underlying everything:
Last night I was cuddling in bed with my daughters, my heart expanding and aching with my love for them.
Calling them into my life was one of the most transformative journeys I have ever taken and it continues to this day.
Ever notice how your pulsating LOVE for another presses you to grow beyond your own edges?
My desires for my children take me into realms I would never venture into for myself.
I want you to meet one of the many exceptional guest teachers in the Ecstatic Birth Practitioner Training, Sokhna Heathyre Mabin.
A leading edge visionary of sacred fertility and creativity, Sokhna is a woman who stands for all women, for mothers, for babies, for LIFE.
As a doula of color, and one developing doula programs for her community, Sokhna intimately understands the challenges black women face in the birthing room and what long term solutions look like, solutions that include:
One of the many, overflowing gifts that birth has given me is a sense of my own autonomy.
Navigating my options in preparation for my first birth, I prioritized everyone’s opinions and desires over my own. That didn’t play out very well.
I experienced a birth trauma that carried over into an inability to conceive and carry a second child.
I looked everywhere for answers and I found none, until I was encouraged to look within.
With self-quarantine and social distancing mandates, our access to the physical is suddenly limited.
Teaching Ecstatic Birth to all kinds of practitioners, I have noticed that often there is an unnecessary boundary between energy work and body work.
While we are all quite aware that there is an interplay between our energy body and our physical body, most modalities of support focus on one or the other.
I’ve never really thought about it in quite this way before, but… Ecstatic Birth preparation integrates both. After all orgasmic energy is deeply felt in the body!
So what happens when one of your senses is suddenly restricted? You begin to develop your other senses!!
This is what is happening right now all over the planet…
